Do you have experience working within a secondary school as a food technician, or have the necessary transferable skills?
Aspire People are looking for a Food Technician to work both within the school kitchen and alongside staff within Food technology lessons.
The candidate will need to have experience maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment within a secondary school setting. Alongside liaising with staff and students within lessons to maintain a safe learning environment.
You will be responsible with the handling of food both within the main school kitchen and lessons - therefore, there is a need to have a basic understanding of food and safety along with food hygiene. The successful candidate will have an understanding of preparing food materials and equipment for lessons and internal food activities. Planning and organisation for staff and liaise with the lead technician to gain a stronger insight of what needs to be planned.
Job role/responsibilities
*Advise and support teachers; to ensure staff understand the use of equipment including the resources and all students have a in depth understanding of the food being used
*Monitor and control the supplies during both the food lessons and school kitchen Understanding of health and safety of food rooms, this is to ensure the routine and outline checking of cleaning and maintaining the kitchen area.
Pay rate would be between £65 -£70 per day dependant on experience
You will need to have a basic understanding of food hygiene and experience of working within a school setting or the willingness to adapt to a mainstream secondary school environment.
You will be required to fully register with us including providing right to work documents along with obtaining an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS that will be process by us but come at a cost of £47.20 (unless you already have one registered on the update service).
