About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire and motivate students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum. You will support students' learning and development, ensuring they achieve their full potential through differentiated teaching and effective classroom management. You will also be responsible for marking and providing constructive feedback to help students improve.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons to students in KS3 and KS4
Plan and prepare lessons in accordance with the national curriculum and school policies
Assess and monitor students' progress through regular marking and feedback
Support students in achieving their academic goals, with a focus on exam preparation at KS4
Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a positive learning environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop schemes of work and resources
Attend staff meetings and contribute to school improvement initiatives
Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as required
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is preferred
Passionate about fostering a love for English literature and language
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to plan and deliver effective lessons that inspire and challenge students
Committed to professional development and working as part of a team
Able to manage workload effectively, including planning, marking, and assessments
