Job description
Are you ready for your next challenge?Do you have the experience and resilience to support and develop the young people of the future?
I have a client that is looking for a NCS Facilitators that will lead a team of young people through a condensed NCS programme. You will deliver pre-planned sessions to groups of 15-17 year olds, within their school as part of the NCS Skills Booster Programme. You will also work with young people, school leads, external providers, and additional core staff.
The sector specialises in delivering Youth Services programmes to young people in line with the government led NCS programme. The service offers a unique opportunity for participants to build life skills such as effective communication, team building and independence in preparation for their next stages of adulthood.
You will need to be enthusiastic, dedicated and bring a 'can do' attitude to the role; you must also be confident in using your own initiative to build positive relationships. To be a part of this exciting journey you must be able to do the following:
*Ensure young people are engaging in activities and manage behaviour concerns
*Be responsible for the health, safety, well being and engagement of young people in your group
*Lead guided reflection
*Offer support to young people with special educational or access needs
*Complete key admin tasks such as registers
*Follow Safeguarding, incident, information governance, health and safety and risk assessment protocol as outlined by the school
*Ensure activities are inclusive
*Positively engage with community partners and manage the relationship
*Work as part of a team to achieve programme objectives, ensuring high standards of service are delivered
Knowledge and Experience
*Understanding of the NCS and it's aims
*Experience of working within the youth sector
*An excellent communicator with the ability to persuade, influence listen to and motivate others, especially young people
*Enthusiastic, reliable and flexible team player with high expectations of self and others
*Ability to present to large groups of people
*Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, on own initiative and constantly seek to improve.
