About the Role:
Aspire People are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Shrewsbury to recruit a Year 6 Teacher for a full-time, permanent position starting September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach and inspire children at a crucial stage in their education, helping them build confidence, resilience, and a love of learning as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will lead an engaging classroom, delivering high-quality lessons, supporting pupils' academic and personal development, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture. You will join a collaborative and supportive staff team dedicated to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum.
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
Monitor pupils' progress, providing targeted support to ensure all learners succeed.
Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development, preparing them for secondary school.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
Maintain strong communication with parents and carers to support learning and wellbeing.
Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (ETCS welcome)
Passion for teaching and inspiring children in Year 6
Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and Key Stage 2 pedagogy
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Collaborative, proactive, and committed to professional development
