About the Role:
Aspire People are delighted to be working with a vibrant and welcoming primary school in Shrewsbury to recruit a Year 1 Teacher for a full-time, permanent position starting September 2026. The school is committed to fostering a love of learning, creativity, and confidence in every child, providing an inclusive environment where all pupils can thrive.
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the early educational experiences of young learners. You will have the opportunity to create engaging lessons, build strong relationships with pupils, and contribute to a positive and supportive school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum.
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
Monitor pupils' progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
Support the personal, social, and emotional development of pupils, fostering confidence and resilience.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
Engage with parents and carers to provide regular updates on progress and encourage partnership in learning.
Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (ETCS welcome).
Passion for teaching young children and commitment to nurturing their development.
Excellent knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum and early years pedagogy.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
Effective communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
A reflective practitioner who is committed to ongoing professional development.
