Job description
Aspire People are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 1 Class Teacher to join a supportive primary school after the Easter break. This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys helping pupils transition from Early Years into Key Stage 1, building strong foundations in phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy.The school offers a collaborative teaching environment, excellent classroom resources, and leadership that prioritises both pupil outcomes and staff wellbeing.
The Role:
* Planning and delivering engaging Year 1 lessons aligned with the national curriculum
* Supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS learning into more structured KS1 learning
* Delivering phonics sessions and supporting early literacy development
* Assessing pupil progress and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
* Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
* Working closely with teaching assistants and year group colleagues
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching in KS1 or strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
* Confidence delivering phonics and early reading programmes
* Strong classroom management skills
* Passion for helping children build confidence and independence in learning
