About the Role:
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will support both teachers and students in the classroom by helping to deliver engaging lessons and providing additional support to students who may need extra help with their learning. Your role will be varied, involving both one-on-one support for students and small group interventions, ensuring that all students have the best opportunity to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities.
Support students with their learning, including one-on-one and small group interventions.
Help students to stay on task, manage their behavior, and participate in classroom activities.
Provide additional support for students with special educational needs (SEN), adapting resources and strategies to meet their individual requirements.
Work with teachers to assess student progress and contribute to the creation of personalized learning plans (PLPs) for students with additional needs.
Support students' emotional and social development, providing a positive role model and a supportive presence in the classroom.
Help with administrative tasks, including preparing resources, marking work, and setting up classroom activities.
About You:
Experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary school setting (though not essential).
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and other staff.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students.
A genuine interest in education and a passion for helping young people succeed.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
An understanding of secondary school systems, curriculum, and the importance of creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
