We are working with a warm and inclusive primary school in Maghull, Sefton, looking for a committed and supportive SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position starting Monday, 23rd February, and will continue through to the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extending into the next academic year for the right candidate.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a school that puts the well-being and development of every child at the heart of its work. The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where all students can thrive, regardless of their background or individual needs. You will play an essential role in ensuring children with SEND receive the tailored support they need to succeed.
The Role:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND across KS1 & KS2, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and making progress.
* Collaborate with class teachers and the SENDCo to implement Individual EHCP strategies, and adjustments to support each child's learning and development.
* Help students engage in lessons and activities, promoting both academic and social inclusion.
* Encourage independence, self-confidence, and emotional well-being in children, helping them achieve their potential.
* Work closely with parents, school staff, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience as a Primary Teaching Assistant (or equivalent role), ideally with experience supporting children with SEND.
* A patient, caring, and empathetic approach, able to build strong, trusting relationships with children who have additional needs.
* Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with class teachers, SENDCo, other support staff, and external professionals.
* Excellent communication skills when working with pupils, parents, and staff.
* A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding children's welfare.
* Ability to provide two professional references.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
What We Offer:
* Dedicated consultant support from Aspire People throughout your placement.
* Competitive pay reflective of your experience and commitment.
* The chance to be part of a caring, inclusive school that values every child's well-being and success.
* Access to professional development and CPD opportunities related to SEND.
* A £250 Refer-a-Friend Bonus (T&Cs apply).
* A £100 sign-up bonus after completing 10 days of work (no obligation).
If you're passionate about supporting children with SEND and want to make a difference in their education and life, we would love to hear from you.
