I am currently working with an Alternative Provision in Nottinghamshire who are looking to recruiting for Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1 to 1 and small group basis. Due to the numbers in the unit increasing, this small independent Alternative Provision are looking to add their staff. Having worked with them since they opened, I have built up an understanding of their requirements.
This position will involve working with pupils who are not able to access education in mainstream schools, the behaviour can be difficult, so we do look for candidates who have strong personalities, be able to work through issues the pupils display and be able to stand up to the physical demands of the work. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity for this to turn into a permanent contract.
As a LSA at this Alternative Provision you would be treated as one of the team and they would expect the following:
*Support pupils as directed
*Be able to build positive relationships
*Work on a one to one basis if required
*Follow the policies of the school including behaviour
*Take an active role within the Provision
*Work collaboratively with other members of staff
