Job description

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to join our specialist client schools, providing invaluable support to students with a wide range of learning, physical, and emotional needs.About the Role:
As a Support Worker in a specialist educational setting, you will play a pivotal role in supporting children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Your role will involve working closely with teachers, educational professionals, and therapists to help our students achieve their full potential. You will provide support both inside and outside of the classroom, assisting with learning activities, personal care, and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND across a range of subjects and activities.
- Support students with personal care as needed, ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety.
- Help students build social, emotional, and communication skills, promoting independence and confidence.
- Work collaboratively with a team of teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural support strategies.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment where every child feels valued and motivated to learn.
About You:
We're looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to making a difference. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people in an educational or care setting and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs. You should be patient, resilient, and able to adapt to the changing needs of the students you support.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with young people with SEND in an educational, care, or support role.
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a related field is desirable.
- An understanding of different SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and physical disabilities.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A positive, can-do attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A passion for helping students develop their full potential, both academically and socially.
