Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD, PMLD, ADHD) - Meldreth, HertfordshireLocation: Meldreth, Hertfordshire
Contract Type: Full-Time
Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs? Do you have the skills and experience to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) thrive in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment?
We are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our team at a well-established special educational needs school in Meldreth, SG8. In this role, you will be supporting students with a range of complex needs and helping them achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with ASD, PMLD, and ADHD.
Assist in delivering tailored learning plans and adapting resources to meet the needs of individual students.
Help with personal care routines and support students with mobility and physical activities where necessary.
Foster a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor student progress and contribute to personalized development plans.
Support students with social and emotional development through guided interventions and promoting positive behaviours.
Liaise with parents and carers to ensure the best possible care and learning experience for the students.
Key Skills & Experience:
Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly ASD, PMLD, and ADHD, is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with complex needs.
An understanding of the different strategies to support children with challenging behaviour and sensory processing difficulties.
A flexible and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
Relevant qualifications in special education or support roles (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) are preferred but not essential.
