The Role
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you'll play a crucial role in making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. Working alongside a dedicated team of teachers, you'll offer tailored support both inside and outside the classroom. Your work will help our pupils overcome barriers to learning, engage with their peers, and feel confident in their abilities.
While the role is full-time, we're happy to consider part-time applicants who are eager to be part of our mission.
What You'll Be Doing:

- Classroom support: Assist the class teacher in creating an engaging, inclusive learning environment where all children feel supported and valued.
- Emotional and behavioural support: Help pupils who may need extra emotional support, using patience and understanding to help them thrive.
- Physical and sensory support: Work with children who have physical or sensory needs, ensuring they have the resources and assistance they require to fully participate in lessons and activities.
- Personal care: Support pupils with personal care needs, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and comfortable throughout the school day.
Who We're Looking For:
- You're someone who cares deeply about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
- You bring experience in working with children, ideally in a SEN setting, and have a solid understanding of the unique challenges children with ASD, MLD, SEMH, and other needs face.
- You're compassionate, with the patience and empathy to support children with diverse needs-especially in moments when they need it most.
- You're creative, finding new ways to engage and support children in their learning, whether it's adapting a lesson or finding innovative strategies.
- You're collaborative, ready to work as part of a team and share ideas to ensure every child thrives.
- Experience in using strategies such as TEACCH, Makaton, or PECs would be fantastic, but it's not a deal-breaker
