Aspire People are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a high achieving primary specialist school in Gorton. This role offers the chance to work with children who have a range of mild to complex needs, including global delay, autism, and non-verbal communication, providing essential support and encouragement in their learning and development.
About the Role:
* Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
* Location: Gorton, M18
* Start Date: As soon as possible
* Contract: Full-time, until July
* Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with a range of needs, including global delay, autism, and those who are non-verbal.
* Assist in delivering personalised learning activities, helping children build communication, social, and cognitive skills.
* Help create and maintain a safe and inclusive space for children, promoting positive behaviour and independence.
About You:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs in a specialist setting is ideal, mainstream is considered.
* Familiarity with working with children who have autism, global delay, and non-verbal communication.
* Compassionate, patient, and proactive, with the ability to adapt your approach to suit each child's individual needs.
* Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with the HLTA and other TAs to meet the needs of each child.
