SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS) - CoventryLocation: Coventry
Contract: Full-time only (term-time)
Start Date: As soon as possible (or specify)
We are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to support EYFS pupils with Special Educational Needs in a supportive school setting in Coventry. This role is particularly suited to someone with experience supporting children with behavioural needs and who is confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner.
🚗 Please note: applicants must be able to drive due to the nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for EYFS pupils with SEN, including ASD, developmental delay, and behavioural needs
Support children with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management strategies
Help pupils develop emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
Support play-based learning, routines, and early learning activities
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Assist with personal care, toileting, and feeding where required (training provided)
Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with EYFS children, ideally those with behavioural or SEMH needs
Be calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
Be confident supporting children with challenging behaviour
Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to drive
Be able to commit to full-time hours
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
