Position: SEND Teaching Assistant (Full-time)Location: Kirkby, Merseyside
Start Date: Immediate start - July 2026 (with potential to extend into the next academic year for the right candidate)

Aspire People is excited to partner with a caring, inclusive primary school in Kirkby that is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This role begins immediately and will run until July 2026, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

The Role:
Provide targeted, one-to-one or small group support to students with SEND across KS1 & KS2.
Assist the class teachers and SENDCo in implementing personalised support plans, strategies, and classroom adaptations.
Help children access the full curriculum, ensuring they are engaged and supported both academically and socially.
Promote the development of independence, self-confidence, and well-being to help students achieve their best.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the individual progress of each child.
What We're Looking For:
An experienced Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) with a strong background in supporting children with special educational needs.
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to building trust and understanding with children who have additional needs.
A flexible team player, able to collaborate with teachers, support staff, SENDCo, and external agencies.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, and staff.
A strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of children.
Must be able to provide two professional references.
A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
