SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary) - CoventryLocation: Coventry
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (term-time)
Start Date: As soon as possible (or specify)
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs in a welcoming and inclusive school in Coventry. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young children thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for primary pupils with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties)
Support children in the classroom, helping them access the curriculum
Assist with early literacy, numeracy, and play-based learning activities
Help pupils develop social skills, confidence, and emotional regulation
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Support behaviour management using positive strategies
Assist with personal care where required (training provided)
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally with SEN
Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable
Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Be a reliable team player with good communication skills
Understand the importance of safeguarding children
