SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary PRU (Challenging Behaviour) - WarwickLocation: Warwick
Contract: Full-time only (term-time)
Setting: Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)
Start Date: As soon as possible (or specify)
We are seeking a resilient, committed, and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant to work with secondary-aged students in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Warwick. This role involves supporting young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, and additional learning needs, helping them re-engage with education in a structured and nurturing environment.
🚗 Applicants must be able to drive due to the nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged students with SEMH and behavioural needs
Support students displaying challenging behaviour, using consistent and positive behaviour management strategies
Help students regulate emotions and develop social and coping skills
Support learning across a range of subjects within the PRU setting
Build positive, trusting relationships with students who may be disengaged from education
Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to support individual behaviour and learning plans
Support students during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within a PRU, alternative provision, or SEMH setting
Be calm, patient, and resilient when managing challenging behaviour
Be confident setting boundaries while maintaining a supportive approach
Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to drive
Be able to commit to full-time hours
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
