Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Aspire People are excited to partner with a large SEND school in St Helens, WA12, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for children aged 5 and above. The school is committed to creating a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment, giving children the tools to develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting each child's learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support to children aged 5+ with ASD, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
* Implement personalised learning plans, behaviour interventions, and support strategies alongside teachers and the SENDCo.
* Use creative, sensory, and play-based approaches to engage children and encourage participation in learning.
* Promote social skills, emotional regulation, and independence, helping children reach their full potential.
* Build strong partnerships with families, staff, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
Who We're Looking For
* Experience working with children with ASD or SEND, ideally in a school or specialist setting.
* Patient, compassionate, resilient, and passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
* Skilled at building trusting relationships with children who require additional support.
* A team player with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and professionals.
* Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and the welfare of all students.
* Must provide professional references and either hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check.
