Job description
**SEND Teaching Assistant - EYFS & KS1**Aspire People are seeking a dedicated **SEND Teaching Assistant** to support pupils in **EYFS and KS1** within a nurturing primary school environment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience supporting children with additional needs or SEMH challenges and who are passionate about helping young learners reach their potential.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND or SEMH needs
* Assisting with daily classroom activities, including phonics, early literacy, and numeracy
* Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
* Encouraging positive social skills and confidence in learning
* Observing and recording pupil progress and feeding back to teachers and SENCO
* Assisting with personal care and supporting pupils' wellbeing where required
**The Ideal Candidate:**
* Recent experience supporting pupils with SEND/SEMH in a school setting
* A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
* Strong understanding of early years and primary development
* Confident communicating with pupils, parents, and colleagues
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
