Job description
Aspire People is working in partnership with a highly inclusive primary school in Salford that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across KS1 and lower KS2.The school has a strong SEND provision and is committed to providing structured, nurturing support tailored to individual learning plans.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD
Implementing structured routines and visual timetables
Supporting communication development and social interaction
Assisting with sensory regulation strategies
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Recording progress and contributing to EHCP reviews
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience supporting children with ASD
Understanding of sensory needs and communication strategies
Calm, patient, and consistent approach
Confident supporting emotional regulation
Team-Teach training desirable (not essential)
