SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time
Location: Leicester
Salary: £90-£100 per day
Start Date: Jan 2025

Aspire People are excited to partner with a fantastic SEN school in Leicester to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work with children with special educational needs (SEN) across primary year groups, as well as occasional support in the Sixth Form department. If you are passionate about helping students thrive and have experience working with children with complex needs, we would love to hear from you.

Role Overview:
In this position, you will provide tailored support for children with special educational needs, working predominantly in the primary phase but with the potential to support older students in the Sixth Form as needed. Some of the children you'll work with have severe learning needs, and your role will be crucial in helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop independence.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the learning and development of children with special educational needs in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.
Support children with severe learning difficulties, offering personal care when required.
Collaborate with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure that students' needs are met.
Help foster an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
Occasionally work with students in the Sixth Form department who have more complex SEN needs.
Support the wider school team in promoting the well-being and inclusion of all students.
Participate in training and professional development to enhance your SEN knowledge and skills.

Essential Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs within a UK school setting (primary and/or secondary).
Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine interest in working with children who have varying needs.
Strong communication skills, both with students and staff.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
A flexible approach, able to adapt to different classroom settings and students' needs.

Desirable:
Experience supporting children with severe learning difficulties.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).

Why Aspire People?
Work with a leading education recruitment agency that values and supports its staff.
Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
A wide range of roles to progress your career in education.
Competitive rates of pay and a supportive team who will help guide you through the process.
The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.

How to Apply:
If you have experience supporting children with special educational needs and are passionate about providing an inclusive learning experience, Aspire People would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you'd be a great fit for this role.
