Job description
I have been working with this oversubscribed Catholic school in North Oxfordshire for the past five years and during this time have built up an excellent relationship with them, assisting in recruiting many teachers. They have now approached me to help them find a full time SENCO to commence in September 2020. I cannot speak highly enough about this school and the fantastic ethos they have which is applied to all pupils and staff. They have an excellent reputation for both academic achievement and student welfare. My TA who has worked with the school for the past 4 months says "they are the most caring and supportive school I have ever had the pleasure to work in".This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a committed and visionary individual to really make a difference within the school.
Working very closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Assistant SENCO, pupils and parents, this position involves playing a lead role in SEN provision and development in the school, including:
*Managing and deploying a team of Teaching Assistants
*Assessing and identifying children and young people with learning or behavioral difficulties and/
or disabilities
*Forming strategies for improvement
*Providing INSET to colleagues
*Building on policies and procedures
*Promoting SEN awareness throughout the School
*Developing links with the local and wider community
In the Last Ofsted Report it was said that "pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported extremely well and make strong progress."
You will need to possess a caring and nurturing personality and have previous experience in an SEN setting/school with a strong desire to improve in any way the school lives of these pupils.
I am very keen to help this school find the right person for this opportunity and would like to hear from you to discuss this role further.
