Aspire People are delighted to be working with a thriving mainstream Secondary School in Stockport, Cheshire, who are looking to appoint a number of skilled and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced support professional who is passionate about helping pupils with additional needs succeed in a mainstream environment.
✨ The Opportunity
This role is perfect for an SEN TA who has previously supported students with any or all of the below:
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- SEMH needs
- Complex Needs
- MLD
- Hearing or Visual Impairments
- Physical Disabilities requiring lifting and handling or wheelchair support
- Behaviour that can be challenging
To be considered, you ideally will have specialist training such as Manual Handling, Lifting and Handling, BSL, Makaton, or have Team Teach, MAPA, PRICE, or comparable de-escalation and regulation training, along with the confidence to support pupils who may require emotional or behavioural intervention in a calm, supportive manner.
You'll be joining a nurturing SEND team who work collaboratively and pride themselves on ensuring every young person receives tailored, high-quality support that enables them to thrive.

⭐ The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in mainstream, SEN, alternative provision, or residential care settings
- A background supporting pupils with a spectrum of additional needs
- Confidence implementing de-escalation strategies and behaviour-support techniques
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Team Teach, MAPA or equivalent behaviour-management training, and/or Manual Handling, Lifting and Handling, BSL, Makaton, or other specialist training (required)
- A genuine desire to help young people break down barriers to learning and reach their full potential

Stockport, Cheshire - well connected by public transport (both train and bus) with ample parking available on-site.
