Job descriptionAre you a Teaching Assistant experienced in working with Autism?
I am recruiting for an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to work with a year 3 child who has severe Autism.In a school in Erdington. 5 dpw starting January 2021 possibly on going role.
This school are looking for somebody to work with the child and develop their education and social abilities with some 1-2-1 work as well as assisting in the classroom.
Ann-Marie has been working with this school for 10 years and have had brilliant feedback from many of the staff we have placed there. Our previous candidates have commented on how happy and welcoming both children and staff are. As well as having a supportive team within the school I am always available to offer support where needed.
As a full time Teaching Assistant working with ASD we and the school will expect you to;
*NVQ Level 3
*A minimum of 1 years' experience as a Teaching Assistant within a primary setting
*Knowledge of the curriculum
*Have a high understanding of ASD and the range of needs the pupil may have
*Be an active thinker as the pupil tends to lash out through their needs and not want to participate with the task in hand
*Have a calm approach to the pupil and build a positive relationship
*Be able to support the development of the child's social and emotional development
