Aspire People are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Shrewsbury. This full-time, temporary role is ideal for someone with significant experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), whether qualified or not. If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with SEN across the primary school.
Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with specific learning needs.
Support students with a range of SEN, including emotional, behavioural, and learning difficulties, ensuring they can fully engage with the curriculum.
Help manage classroom activities and assist the teacher with lesson preparation and delivery.
Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where necessary.
Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to ensure all children receive the appropriate support and care.
About You:
Significant experience working with children with SEN in a school or care setting (qualification not essential but desirable).
A genuine passion for helping children with SEN achieve their full potential.
Ability to support students in both academic and social development.
Patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Able to use initiative and work independently when required.
A positive and proactive attitude towards helping children thrive.
