Job Title: SEN Teacher (SEMH)
Location: Coventry
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN teacher with a passion for supporting students with SEMH needs?
We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic teacher to join our specialist team in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them thrive academically and emotionally in a safe and supportive environment.

About Us:

Our client is a dedicated SEMH provision that works with secondary-aged students who require additional support with their emotional, social, and mental health needs. We are a supportive, inclusive school with a strong commitment to providing personalised education, promoting well-being, and creating a positive, nurturing environment where every student can flourish.

The Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will work with a small group of secondary-aged students, providing tailored lessons and support that address their individual needs. You will help create an environment that enables students to engage with learning, develop emotional regulation skills, and overcome barriers to learning. You will also work closely with the SENCO, pastoral staff, and other professionals to provide holistic support.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet the academic and emotional needs of students with SEMH

Create and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment where students feel safe and valued

Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods and interventions as needed

Provide tailored support to students both inside and outside of the classroom

Work collaboratively with the wider team, including SENCO, teaching assistants, and external agencies

Support students in developing positive behaviours and coping strategies

Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on progress and well-being

Contribute to the development and delivery of whole-school initiatives for SEMH students

What We're Looking For:

A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

Experience working with secondary-aged students with SEMH needs

A strong understanding of SEN provisions and effective strategies for supporting students with SEMH

A compassionate and patient approach, with a focus on building trust and positive relationships with students

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet the diverse needs of students

A commitment to promoting inclusion, well-being, and personal development for all students

What We Offer:

A supportive and understanding work environment where every team member is valued

Opportunities for professional development and training in SEMH and SEN education

A competitive salary and benefits package

Access to a range of resources to support teaching and learning

The chance to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of young people

If you are passionate about working with young people with SEMH needs and want to join a team that is dedicated to fostering growth, resilience, and success, we would love to hear from you!
