Contract: Full‑time, Monday to Friday (5 days per week)

About the Role:
Aspire People is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Severe Learning Disability (SLD) Teacher to join a specialist SEND provision in Solihull. This full‑time role is ideal for a teacher with a strong understanding of complex needs who can deliver highly differentiated, nurturing, and engaging learning experiences.
You'll be supporting pupils with severe learning disabilities, often alongside additional needs such as communication difficulties, sensory needs, physical disabilities, or autism. The role requires patience, creativity, and a commitment to helping every learner achieve meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and support pupils with severe learning disabilities in a structured, supportive environment.
Plan and deliver personalised, differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP targets.
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider SEND teams.
Use communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory‑based approaches (experience desirable).
Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and multi‑agency professionals.
Track progress and contribute to reviews and assessments.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching pupils with SLD, PMLD, complex needs, or within a special school setting.
Strong understanding of sensory learning, communication strategies, and adaptive teaching.
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
Ability to work full‑time, Monday to Friday.
Salary
