Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a supportive school in Handsworth, Birmingham. This role is ideal for a qualified teacher with experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who is passionate about creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
The successful candidate will take on the full responsibilities of a classroom teacher, including planning, teaching, marking, and supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver adapted lessons to support pupils with SEN
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports individual learning needs
Work closely with teaching assistants and SEN support staff
Mark and assess pupils' work and monitor progress
Support and implement EHCP and individual learning plans where required
Use a variety of differentiated teaching strategies
Manage behaviour effectively using positive behaviour strategies
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals when needed
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
Experience working with SEN pupils in a school setting
Good knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation
Strong classroom management skills
Patient, flexible, and supportive approach to teaching
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
