SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception to Year 1 (SEN Hub, B12)Start: ASAP
Location: B12, Birmingham
Agency: Aspire People
Aspire People are looking for a caring, confident, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Reception and Year 1 within a dedicated SEN Hub in the B12 area. This is a rewarding full‑time role starting immediately, working with children who have a range of additional needs including ASD, communication difficulties, and social‑emotional needs.
What the role involves
Supporting pupils with EHCPs in a small, nurturing SEN Hub
Providing 1:1 and small‑group support across Reception and Year 1
Assisting with communication, sensory regulation, and early learning development
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support
Using positive behaviour strategies to create a calm, safe learning environment
Helping pupils build confidence, independence, and social skills
What we're looking for
Experience working with children with SEN (ASD experience highly valued)
A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
Ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting early years and KS1 learners
