Job description
Aspire are seeking experienced and qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across a range of primary, secondary and specialist education settings. We are recruiting HLTAs to support schools on a day-to-day, long-term and permanent basis, offering flexibility and rewarding opportunities to make a real difference in the classroom.About the Role
As an HLTA working with Aspire, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning by working closely with class teachers, delivering planned lessons, and providing high-quality support to pupils. You may be required to lead whole-class learning, cover teacher absences, and support targeted interventions to raise attainment and engagement.
This role is ideal for confident, adaptable professionals who are passionate about education and committed to helping pupils reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacher
Support teachers with lesson planning, preparation and assessment
Lead small group and one-to-one interventions to support pupil progress
Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL pupils
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a productive learning environment
Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
Assist with classroom organisation and resources
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff and senior leaders
Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure pupil wellbeing at all times
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
Hold HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience
Have recent experience working in a UK school setting
Be confident leading whole-class learning
Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
Have excellent communication and organisational abilities
Show flexibility and adaptability to different school environments
Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check
