MAT HR Manager
Erdington
Temp - Perm
Grade 5 £35,745 - £39,880 per annum
36.5 hours per week, All Year Round to start ASAP

JOB PURPOSE:
Aspire People are recruiting for a MAT HR Manager to support the Chief Operations Officer (COO) with the Multi Academy Trust's (MAT) day-to-day operations, improve operating procedures to improve efficiency and implement strategies set by the Board of Trustees and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Also, to monitor that the establishments within the MAT, including academies, colleges and mainstream nurseries all adhere to employment law and deadlines for submission of returns and publication of statutory information.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business planning and performance reporting
*Support in the development, implementation and maintenance of strategic and operational Human Resources (HR) processes and controls to safeguard the MAT.
*Ensure that establishments within the MAT adhere to the correct HR procedures and where necessary reported to the Local Governing Bodies (LGB) and Board of Trustees.
*Produce timely HR information to the Board of Directors, CEO, COO and Executive Team as and when required.

Business Management
*Act as the point of contact in the absence of the COO, inclusive of finance, Human Resources (HR), VAT, risk and legal departments to ensure MAT wide administration is efficient and effective.
*Promote the drive for efficiency throughout the MAT.
*Understand the effects and implications of government policies, legislation and directives and support the development of effective strategies for current initiatives and long-term educational trends.
*Always promote 'best value' when negotiating and monitoring contracts, tenders and agreements.

Human Resource (HR)
*Oversee the HR function across the whole MAT ensuring all schools within the MAT are adhering to all HR policies.
*Provide leadership, guidance and advice on HR matters including employment law issues.
*Oversee the recruitment process and issue of contracts of employment across the MAT.
*Oversee the monthly payroll across the MAT and produce a consolidated payroll report for submission to the payroll provider for payment processing.
*Maintain records for central MAT staff including sickness, personnel files and the Single Central Record.
*Review absence reports of all the schools within the MAT to identify and report any issues or trends.
*Support with the professional development, appraisal and training for all admin staff within the MAT.

Marketing
*Promote the MAT to different audiences and raise the profile within the LA and local community.
*Initiate collaborative working with other schools and LA departments.

Other Duties
*Any other reasonable tasks commensurate with the role to ensure the smooth running of the MAT.
*Individuals have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people they are responsible for or come into contact with.
*Ensure all tasks are carried out with due regard to Health and Safety.
*Undertake appropriate professional development including adhering to the principle of performance management.
*Adhere to the ethos of the MAT, promote the agreed vision and aims of the MAT and set an example of personal integrity and professionalism.
