Job description
The School Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the school are kept clean, hygienic, and presentable, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.Key responsibilities include:
Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas
Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting as required
Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely
Replenishing cleaning supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet roll
Following established cleaning schedules and checklists
Using cleaning equipment and materials safely and correctly
Reporting any maintenance issues, damage, or hazards to the appropriate staff
Adhering to health & safety and safeguarding procedures at all times
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must:
Have previous experience in a cleaning role (school or commercial setting preferred)
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Understand and follow health & safety and COSHH requirements
Take pride in maintaining high cleaning standards
Be reliable, punctual, and consistent
Be physically capable of carrying out cleaning duties
Role Information
This is an agency role requiring an experienced cleaner
No training will be provided; candidates must be confident in all aspects of cleaning duties from day one
Hours may include early mornings or late afternoons, depending on school requirements

This role is subject to safeguarding and pre-employment checks in line with current legislation.
