About the Role:
Aspire People is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Reception Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with special educational needs (SEN) in Craven Arms, Shropshire. The role is starting ASAP and is long-term, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position for the right candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a child's education and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to a child in Reception with special educational needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis.
Assist the class teacher with the delivery of tailored learning plans and activities.
Promote positive behavior, encourage social interaction, and help with emotional development.
Adapt teaching materials and resources to suit the child's individual learning needs.
Support the child during group activities, helping to create an inclusive and nurturing environment.
Communicate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the child.
Requirements:
Relevant experience working with children with SEN is essential.
A strong understanding of child development and the needs of children with a variety of learning needs.
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
Experience in early years or primary education is a plus.
