Salary: £100-£110 per day, dependent on experience
We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Merton. This role is ideal for a professional with experience supporting pupils in the classroom and helping them achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will provide high-quality support to pupils with additional needs, working closely with class teachers and SEN staff. You will support learning both individually and in small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop independence. Your role will also include assisting with planning, preparation, and resource management to ensure lessons run smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils individually or in small groups to access the curriculum and achieve learning objectives.
Promote independence, self-esteem, and positive social interactions for all pupils.
Assist teachers in creating and maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Support pupils with SEN or other additional needs, including ASC, as required.
Prepare classrooms and resources, and support lesson delivery to enhance engagement.
Observe and record pupil progress and share feedback with the class teacher.
Support pupils during assessment or examination sessions where needed.
Accompany pupils on educational visits and support participation in extracurricular activities.
Collaborate with teachers, colleagues, and external professionals to ensure effective support for pupils.
Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour management, and child protection.
About You:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience supporting pupils in a classroom setting, ideally including pupils with additional needs.
Strong understanding of strategies to support learning, social development, and inclusion.
Patient, empathetic, and committed to helping pupils achieve their potential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, teachers, parents, and colleagues.
Professional, reliable, and committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
