Job description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary School Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic team. This position is ideal for a qualified teacher who is experienced in working with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Sensory Needs, and Non-Verbal Communication.Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
Provide support for children with learning difficulties, ensuring they achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Use a range of strategies to support students with non-verbal communication and sensory processing needs.
Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
Manage challenging behaviors effectively, using restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
Regularly monitor and report on students' progress, adapting strategies to meet their evolving needs.
Ideal Candidate:
PGCE with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential.
Experience teaching children with SEMH, Autism, Sensory Processing Needs, and Learning Disabilities.
Strong understanding of SEND strategies and approaches to support emotional and behavioral development.
Patience, creativity, and a commitment to inclusive education.
Ability to differentiate teaching strategies and content to suit the individual learning styles of students.
Experience with non-verbal communication techniques and working with communication aids (e.g. PECS, Makaton) is a plus.
