Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join our team for a 1-year maternity cover. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching small groups of Year 7 and Year 8 students, ensuring they receive the foundational support and encouragement needed during their transition from primary to secondary education.This position is based within a vibrant and supportive secondary school based in Grantham. They are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to the needs of Year 7 and Year 8 students.
* Provide individual and small group instruction to support students' academic development.
* Develop and implement creative lesson plans that adhere to the national curriculum.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
* Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
* Maintain a positive and safe classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience teaching in a primary or lower secondary setting.
* Strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies for young learners.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and a collaborative approach to teaching.
