Job description
Primary High Needs Provision Teacher - SparkhillA welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Sparkhill is seeking a committed and experienced Teacher to join their team on a long-term, full-time basis (Monday-Friday), starting this Monday for the right candidate.
This position is based within the school's High Needs Provision, supporting pupils with complex additional needs.
You will be working with a small group of pupils who present with:
* High levels of autism
* Potential PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profiles
* Complex communication and sensory needs
The provision requires a calm, structured and nurturing practitioner who can deliver highly personalised learning while maintaining clear boundaries and consistent routines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planning and delivering differentiated, personalised learning
* Creating a low-arousal, autism-friendly environment
* Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
* Working closely with TAs and support staff within the provision
* Liaising with parents, SENCO and external professionals
* Monitoring progress through EHCP targets and personalised plans
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Previous experience in a special school setting or significant experience supporting pupils with complex autism needs
* Strong understanding of autism-specific strategies and structured approaches
* Experience supporting pupils with PDA profiles (desirable)
* Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Patience, resilience and a genuine passion for inclusive education
