Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Full-Time)Location: Burton Latimer, Kettering, Northamptonshire.
Contract Type: Full-Time
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
Start Date: ASAP (or ideally after notice period for the right candidate)
About the Role:
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for also supporting children with special educational needs, given the nature of the cohort at this Primary School. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at a well-established primary school in Burton Latimer.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will make a real difference to the lives of children within a mainstream school.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and group support for students with a variety of SEN, both in and outside the classroom, as well as supporting as a main classroom TA.
Assist in delivering tailored learning plans and activities that meet the needs of individual students.
Support children in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
Help students with personal care when required.
Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to track progress and support students' development.
Foster a safe and nurturing environment, helping students to feel confident and engaged in their learning.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers about student progress and well-being.
Key Skills & Experience:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, particularly supporting students with high SEN needs, is essential.
A good understanding of SEN strategies and approaches, including experience with ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour and provide a positive learning environment.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy and varied school environment.
A full driving license and access to a car is essential for this role due to the school's location and needs.
