Job description
Aspire People are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across KS1 and KS2 from Easter in a two form entry primary school in the South Birmingham area. This is a temporary post until July (With a view to continue)This post will provide a great opportunity for development of skills and experience across Key Stages 1 and 2, delivering PPA and short term whole class cover. Additionally, the role will involve Special Educational Needs administrative support, working very closely with the school SENCO, to develop the quality of provision further for children on the SEN register.
The successful applicant will have high expectations of achievement and behaviour and will be able to inspire children in a caring, positive and creative learning environment
The ideal HLTA will have;
* A Level 4 HLTA qualification or higher
* Experience with working with children with special educational needs
* A patient, caring and adaptable manner to deal with SEN pupils in an education setting
* Qualifications such as Team Teach are an advantage
The successful teaching assistant would need to be available 5 days per week and hold extensive knowledge of supporting small groups and children on a one to one basis.
*Skills and experience required:
*You must have at least 6 months experience working in schools
*An enthusiastic, well-motivated and talented classroom practitioner
*An ability to inspire children, staff and parents alike
*Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum
*A friendly caring nature
*The capacity to identify and target specific, individual needs
*Keen to learn and develop professionally
*Can create an environment that nurtures and stimulates positive attitudes, independence and an innovative approach to facilitating learning and teaching
