Job description
Aspire have an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join one of our SEN school for the start of the 24/25 Academic year.In the schools very own words,
Our children come from a wide range of backgrounds, but all have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), and many will also have other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. Many will have suffered significant trauma and adverse childhood experiences and may have social care involvement.
The work we do is both varied and challenging and, as a trauma and attachment informed organisation, all staff are provided with extensive therapeutic training and support.
Our closely triangulated approach places the child at the centre of decision making, ensuring that education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, local authority teams and, most importantly, our students can work together to secure outstanding outcomes for all.
The successful applicant will need to:
* Have a relevant Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and good literacy and numeracy skills.
* MUST have experience with in SEN
* Be willing to work on a one to one basis as well as being in the class room.
* Be willing to undertake duties such as lunchtime supervising.
* Attend weekly staff meetings (currently held after school on a Wednesday).
* Have a working knowledge of the national curriculum to support and extend learning under the direction of the class teacher.
* Have high standards and present as a positive role model for pupils.
* Have a positive attitude and be able to work as part of a successful and supportive team.
* Be able to show initiative when required.
* Have experience of working with primary aged children to support their learning and well-being.
* Liaise with parents/carers to build positive relationships.
* Be willing to develop their own skills through participation in training opportunities.
