The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Health and Social Care Teacher to join our team for a full-time, long-term cover position starting in September. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and success.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices and resources.
Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.
Support the pastoral care of students, providing guidance and support where needed.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Proven experience teaching Health and Social Care at secondary school level.
Strong knowledge of the Health and Social Care curriculum for Key Stages 3 to 5.
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development and a reflective practice.
Desirable:
Experience in preparing students for exams and coursework.
Ability to use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
A proactive approach to extracurricular activities and school initiatives.
