Head of Science - The Role
As Head of Science, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the department, ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and learning across all key stages. You will inspire both staff and students, drive curriculum development and play a key role in whole-school improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage and develop the Science department across KS3-KS5
* Support and motivate staff to deliver engaging, high-quality Science lessons
* Oversee curriculum planning, assessment and enrichment opportunities
* Use data effectively to monitor progress, raise attainment and close gaps
* Work closely with the senior leadership team to support whole-school priorities and improvement strategies
Head of Science - The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have a strong track record of excellent Science teaching across secondary phases
* Demonstrate leadership experience or clear potential to lead a department
* Possess strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education
* Be an effective communicator with excellent organisational and leadership skills
* Be committed to high standards, collaboration and continuous improvement
