We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to join this team as Head of RE.
About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to lead the Religious Education department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an engaging curriculum that reflects the cultural diversity of Tower Hamlets, and fostering a learning environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and understanding of all faiths.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the RE department, ensuring effective teaching and learning strategies are in place.
* Develop and implement a broad, balanced, and relevant RE curriculum.
* Inspire, motivate, and support staff within the department, providing professional development opportunities.
* Monitor and assess student progress, setting high expectations for achievement.
* Work closely with senior leadership to support the school's ethos and vision.
* Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider community.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Proven experience as a Religious Education teacher, ideally with leadership experience.
* A passion for RE, with a strong knowledge of world religions and ethical issues.
* The ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* A commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and respect in the school community.
