Job description

They are currently seeking an Experienced Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a desire to help them succeed academically and socially. You'll be supporting children across the primary phase, providing both 1:1 and group support.
The Role
As an Experienced Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the academic and personal development of students. You will assist in delivering lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and providing tailored support to students to help them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the teacher in delivering lessons across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, and Science
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, particularly those who may need additional help
Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons, ensuring materials and resources are ready for class
Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment
Track and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher as needed
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and learning
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience working as a Primary Teaching Assistant in the last 2 years within a UK primary school
Ability to adapt to different classroom settings and support a diverse range of students
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for working with children and helping them achieve their best
Good knowledge of primary school curriculum and classroom management techniques
Desirable: A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) but not essential
Desirable:
Experience working with students with additional learning needs (e.g., SEND)
Familiarity with intervention programs (e.g., phonics, literacy/numeracy support)
A patient, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children in their learning
