Job description
Are you an organised and experienced School Exams Officer currently seeking a new opportunity in Birmingham from February 2020?The school I am recruiting for is seeking a hardworking and efficient Exams Officer to help ensure the smooth running of the upcoming exams season. The role will be temporary with the view of a permanent position for the right candidate. It is essential that applicants have previous experience working as an Exams Officer within a school setting and have good knowledge of the JCQ regulations. Applicants must be proficient on SIMS or have experience using a similar school software system. The position is to start as soon as possible and due to the urgency of the vacancy, applicants must be readily available for work or approaching the end of a temporary contract.
As a full time Exams Officer, the school will expect you to perform your duties to the highest standard. You will be expected to:
« Submitting entries for external examinations to awarding bodies in advance of deadlines
« Liaising with all staff, e.g. Heads of Department regarding entries
« Organising SEN provision, including liaising with the SEN Co-ordinator
regarding candidates with SEN; applying to awarding bodies for special arrangements for such candidates
« Managing the daily running of external examinations. This will include ensuring that all required materials are in the examination rooms for the start of the examinations and arrangements for candidates with special educational needs are in place
« Organising exam materials, providing safe custody of and organising examination stationery and materials, including question papers, in accordance with regulations
« To be responsible for the management and supervision of invigilators
You will be supported by me, James Kearney. I am Aspire People's Senior Office & Technical consultant and have been supplying non teaching staff to schools in Birmingham for the past 5 years.
