Job description
Are you a support worker looking for an exciting new opportunity working with young adults with additional needs?I am recruiting for an Alternative provision based in the Stourbridge area who are looking for a number of full time day time support workers who can help their young adults increase their independence levels and learning a skill that can hopefully mean them joining the workforce.
The vocational courses at this college include things such as woodwork, glass blowing, bronze casting and agricultural work. I am looking for hands on and creative individuals who will support the learners during their studies.
Experience working with children or adults with additional needs is essential. The needs of the students vary but include ADHD, ASD, MLD and other behavioural and learning needs.
The key duties in this role will include:
*The supervision and support of students throughout the college day, both in sessions and free time
*To encourage students to attend planned sessions and to help them become engaged in the curriculum activities
*Completion of relevant paperwork as required
*To support College safeguarding procedures by reporting quickly and effectively any disclosures to the College Safeguarding Team.
The successful candidate will have;
*Experience working with individuals with additional needs in any environment
*A practical, hands on approach to learning
*Experience in any of the skills taught at the college desired but not essential
*A clear Child and Adult workforce DBS on the update service
*Able to provide references to cover the last 5 years of your employment history
*A desire to make a real difference in the learners' lives
