We are seeking a dynamic and committed Cover Supervisor to join a supportive and thriving secondary school in Newcastle under Lyme. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people, possess strong classroom management skills, and be passionate about supporting students in their learning journey.
About the Role: As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing classrooms during teacher absence, ensuring students are on task and following the set work. You will play an essential role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting the school's ethos of excellence. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise students in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring work set is completed and deadlines are met.
Manage classroom behavior in line with the school's behavior policy.
Provide support to students as necessary and ensure they remain engaged in learning.
Liaise with teaching staff and ensure a smooth transition for both students and teachers.
Provide feedback to the school's leadership team on student progress and behavior.
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate students.
A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well under pressure.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
A passion for helping students achieve their full potential.
