Aspire People is excited to recruit a dedicated and motivated Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to support classroom learning, ensuring students remain engaged and focused in the absence of their regular teacher. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in the absence of the regular class teacher.
Ensure students are focused, completing tasks set out in lesson plans and working to the best of their ability.
Manage classroom behavior, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
Support students with their work, providing guidance and encouragement where needed.
Report on students' progress and behavior to teaching staff and school leadership.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during lessons.
Essential Criteria:
Experience working with young people (in an educational setting or youth work role is desirable).
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students effectively.
Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain order in a positive way.
Reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently.
A passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
A willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check (if you don't already have one).
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar support role.
A background in education or a related field (such as tutoring, youth work, or learning support).
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
