HLTA Opportunities are Available now
What is a HLTA?
The HLTA ( Higher Level Teaching Assistant) role was introduced in 2003, following workforce reform to raise standards and tackle workload in the classroom. Higher level teaching assistant status is awarded to support staff who meet the national HLTA standards. A Higher Level Teaching Assistant will do all the things that regular teaching assistants does however they will have an increased level of responsibility. HLTAs will be able to teach classes on their own, this could be to cover planned absences or allow teachers time to plan and mark.
