Job description

Unqualified Teacher - Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Location: Bedford
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in a new and growing SEN school in Bedford?

We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and degree-educated Unqualified Teachers to join this dynamic team in a forward-thinking, inclusive SEN school for pupils with a range of needs including autism, severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and complex medical needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who want to grow their experience in the field of special education and contribute to a nurturing, collaborative school community.

About the Role
You will play a key part in delivering personalised, high-quality teaching and learning for pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. You'll work in partnership with experienced Teaching Assistants, therapists, and external professionals to create a learning environment that is engaging, inclusive, and child-centred.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons tailored to individual needs
* Designing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
* Supporting pupils in developing basic literacy, numeracy, and life skills
* Creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment
* Preparing and presenting detailed pupil reports and progress reviews
* Leading a classroom team, including the effective direction and support of TAs
* Building strong working relationships with parents, carers, and professionals

About You
We're looking for someone who is:
* Educated to degree level (essential)
* Experienced in the UK education system, particularly in SEN, Primary, or Early Years
* Confident in delivering basic skills teaching to pupils with a wide range of needs
* Skilled in classroom management and team leadership
* Familiar with inclusive education practices and child-centred approaches
* A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Compassionate, flexible, and eager to contribute to a collaborative school culture

Experience working with children who have autism, SLD, or PMLD is highly desirable. While QTS is not required, this is an ideal role for individuals considering a future teaching qualification or career in special education.

Applications are welcomed from experienced candidates, and new graduates who are passionate about SEND and ready to learn and grow.

To apply, please submit your CV or contact Charlotte at Aspire People on 01234 394 781
